0 BOOM 18 P.-GE 599 <br />0 0 <br />The board considered a resolution authorizing the sale of a surplus vehicle. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the board that he had a 1991 Chevrolet Corsica <br />automobile that was not sold at the last public auction. He had received a private bid for <br />the automobile and wished to sell the surplus vehicle before next year's auction. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to adopt the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, Lee County owns a motor vehicle that has become Suplus for its <br />current needs; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A-266 permits the County to sell <br />such property by private sale, upon authorization by the Board of Commissioners at a <br />regular meeting and notice to the public; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD Of COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY <br />resolves that: <br />The Board of Commissioners authorizes the Director of Public <br />Works to sell by private sale the following item of Surplus public <br />property: <br />One 1991 Chevrolet Corsica automobile <br />Vehicle Identification No. IGILT53G5ME138872 <br />2. The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners shall publish a notice <br />summarizing this resolution and no sale may be executed pursuant <br />to this resolution until at least 10 clays after the day the notice is <br />published. <br />Commissioner Robert Reives joined the meeting during this discussion. <br />Upon a vote of the motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a resolution for the sale of the County Refunding Bonds <br />and related Escrow Deposit Agreement.
