Mr. Satterfield asked that the board <br />consider increasing the fees as follows: <br />Current Fee <br />Proposed Fee <br />Conventional and Conditional Use <br />Rezoning <br />$ 50.00 <br />S 125.00 <br />Special Use Requests <br />$ 50.00 <br />S 125.00 <br />Variances <br />$ 50.00 <br />S 125.00 <br />Appeals <br />$ 50.00 <br />S 125.00 <br />He further told the board that the recommended fee of S125.00 is consistent with <br />what the City of Sanford charges as well as other similar jurisdictions throughout the <br />state. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to approve planning fees <br />as outlined above. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Paschal, Reives, and S4L11S <br />Nay: Lemmond and Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. <br />The board considered the close out of the 1999 Community Development <br />Block Grant (CDBG) program for Lee County. Project Manager Jessie Miars from <br />Holland Consulting Planners, Inc. told the board that this was a required public <br />hearing prior to closing out the FY 1999 Community Development Block Grant <br />Scattered Site Project. She told the board that this was entirely a housing project, <br />with no public works involved. Activities involved expenditures of $4,500 for <br />clearance, $40,148 in relocations, $273,387 in rehabilitation activities, and 521,946 in <br />administrative costs. The County matched the grant with $17,500. She told the board <br />that twelve very low-income individuals and nine low-income individuals were <br />assisted, nine elderly individuals, six disabled individuals, and nine individuals were <br />living in female head-of-household classes. A total of twenty-one low-income <br />individuals were assisted with the project. The average rehabilitation cost was a little <br />over 528,000 per house. She further told the board that Lee County is available for <br />5400,000 in grants for 2002. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this <br />date and time. <br />No one present spoke for or against closing out the project. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to close out the 1999 Community Development <br />Block Grant program.
