eco,~A 0 ~ Face 667 023 <br />.WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has received a petition from Mr. Roy <br />E. Mashburn requesting the abandonment of 0.228 acres of right-of-way in Westover <br />Drive (SR 1333); and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Mashburn acquired said property in exchange for 0.759 acres <br />to be dedicated to the Department of Transportation in order for said Department to <br />relocate Westover Drive to facilitate the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection <br />of Pendergrass Road and US Highway No. 1; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners endorsed the project to relocate <br />Westover Drive and the installation of a traffic signal at Pendergrass Road and U.S. <br />Highway No. 1 at its meeting on August 20, 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners believes that the abandonment of the <br />0.228 acre of right-of-way of Westover Drive, the relocation of Westover Drive, and the <br />installation of a traffic signal will promote public safety and the best interests of the <br />people of Lee County will be served thereby; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee <br />County that the Board of Transportation is hereby requested to abandon the 0.228 acre of <br />right-of-way of Westover Drive (SR 1333) as described in the Petition. <br />This the 22„ d day of October, 2001. <br />1 <br />Herbert A.
