0 0 <br />024 <br />6G0;C JS PACE 675 <br />Commissioner Matthews requested that Mr. Jackson Hatton from Charter <br />Communications appear before the board at the next meeting on December 3, 2001, to <br />discuss recent rate increase requested by Charter Communications. Commissioner <br />Reives requested that he also discuss cable programs offered in Harnett County as <br />compared to Lee County. County Manager William Cowan was asked to contact Mr. <br />Hatton concerning these issues. <br />Commissioner Matthews asked that a meeting be scheduled with Mr. Riley <br />Godley concerning the emergency 911 dispatch program. After some discussion, County <br />Manager William Cowan, Commissioner Bert Matthews, and Commissioner Jerry <br />Lemmond were asked to talk with Mr. Godley about the program and find out exactly <br />what would be required to implement such a program in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Matthews discussed with the board economic development <br />incentives that are given to plants or companies that go out of business or leave town. <br />Commissioner Matthews asked that a letter of congratulations be sent to staff at <br />the Lee County Health Department for winning the recent 2001 G1axoSmithKline Child <br />Health Recognition Award. <br />Community Development Director Ron Satterfield and Inspections Director <br />Travis Phillips gave presentations concerning their departments. <br />There being no further business to come before the board, Commissioner <br />Lemmond moved to adjourn the meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the meeting <br />adjourned in keeping with the motion. <br />Herbert A.
