No action was taken on the matter. <br />The board considered a proposal to provide consulting services for sales tax <br />refund claims. Finance Director Lisa Minter told the board that she had received a <br />proposal from Dixon Odom PLLC to provide consulting services in reference to sales tax <br />refund claims made by Lee County and other non-profit and governmental agencies <br />within the county. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved for Lee County <br />to enter into an agrcennent with Dixon Odom PLLC for consulting services regarding <br />sales tax refund claims. Upon a vote, the results were as Follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SaUls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted Unanimously. <br />The board considered a recommendation from the Planning Board concerning the <br />joint public hearing that was held earlier in the meeting. Planner Althea Thompson told <br />the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the petition by Paul Sarazen <br />to rezone a .97 acre lot located at 3131 Hawkins Avenue from Highway Commercial <br />District to Light Industrial District. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the <br />recommendation of the Planning Board. Upon a vote, the results were us follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered the selection of a company to handle bond counsel issues. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the board that staff from The Local Government <br />Commission has advised the County Manager to engage bond counsel to advise and <br />assist in the installment purchase finance venture currently under consideration. Mr. <br />Hoyle and County Manager William Cowan met with representatives from the firm of <br />Smith Helms Mullis & Moore, L.L.P. to discuss future financing matters. Mr. Hoyle told <br />the board that he and the County Manager recommend that Lee County employ the above <br />mentioned firm. After some discussion, Commissioner Matthews moved for Lee County <br />to enter into an agreement with Smith Helms Mullis & Moore, L.L.P. for bond counsel <br />services.
