No <br />action was taken on the matter. <br />The board considered a resolution endorsing the Triangle GreenPrint Regional <br />Open Space Assessment. Brooks Gage, Chairperson of the Lee County Environmental <br />Affairs Board introduced Ben Hitchings from the Triangle J Council of Governments who <br />gave a short presentation concerning "open space" and the critical benefits to Lee County <br />residents. Commissioner Adams moved to approve a resolution endorsing the Triangle <br />GreenPrint Open Space Assessment that identifies many open space areas that can only be <br />fully enjoyed by Lee County citizens if Lee County cooperates with other government <br />jurisdictions to protect them. A copy of the resolution is attached to these minutes and by <br />this reference made a part hereof. Public Works Director Kenny Cole <br />discussed with the board the description and cost estimate for the property. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the purchase of property located on <br />US 421 North for the construction of a new Animal Control facility, a copy of which is <br />attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Matthews <br />moved to approve the unfreezing of the above position.
