Geu. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />DECEMBER 2, 2002 <br />A swearing in ceremony for newly and re-elected Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, was held at the old Lee County Courthouse, 1408 S. <br />Homer Boulevard, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, December 2, 2002, at 9:00 <br />J o'clock a.m. Judge Jim Love, Jr., swore new Commissioner Amy L. Stevens into office, <br />along with re-elected Commissioners W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, and Robert T. <br />Reives. A reception and dedication service honoring COmI[V Attorney K. R. Hoyle Sr. <br />for his fifty years of service with the N.C. Bar Association, and outgoing Commissioner <br />John I Sauls, was held immediately following the ceremony. <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 11:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners Room, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lennnond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted: <br />Rev. James Estes delivered the invocation. <br />Commissioner Bert Matthews led the pledge of allegiance. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the board that the first order of business was <br />the election of a Chairman for a one-year term.
