LEE COUNTY Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON HOOKER STREET, LOT 3 BLOCK A WHEREAS, the County of Lee and the City of Sanford own certain property located at 0 Hooker Street, Lot 3 Block A, Washington Avenue Neighborhood, PIN 9642-54-5616-00 in the City of Sanford, in Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1443, Page 456, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1462 Page 138 in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Brandon Martin on behalf of Black Fountain, LLC ("Offeror"), to purchase the property described above in the amount of $1,950.00 plus any advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, Offeror paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on his offer plus advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 5, 2017, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the offer of $1,950.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on June 14, 2017; and, WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and the original offer from Mr. Martin is the final and highest bid received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as follows: 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of $1,950.00 from Brandon Martin on behalf of Black Fountain, LLC. 2. The terms of the final sale are as follows: Buyer must pay with cash, cashier's check or certified check at the time of closing.
