LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON HOOKER <br />STREET, LOT 3 BLOCK A <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee and the City of Sanford own certain property located at 0 <br />Hooker Street, Lot 3 Block A, Washington Avenue Neighborhood, PIN 9642-54-5616-00 in the <br />City of Sanford, in Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book <br />1443, Page 456, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record <br />thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br />county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed <br />such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1462 Page 138 <br />in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on <br />behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Brandon Martin on behalf of <br />Black Fountain, LLC ("Offeror"), to purchase the property described above in the amount of <br />$1,950.00 plus any advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, Offeror paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on his <br />offer plus advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 5, 2017, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners accepted the offer of $1,950.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford <br />Herald on June 14, 2017; and, <br />WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and <br />the original offer from Mr. Martin is the final and highest bid received. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />as follows: <br />1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of $1,950.00 from <br />Brandon Martin on behalf of Black Fountain, LLC. <br />2. The terms of the final sale are as follows: Buyer must pay with cash, cashier's check <br />or certified check at the time of closing. <br />
