LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 0 WALL <br />STREET IN SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee own certain property located at 0 Wall Street, Vacant <br />Wall Street, Wicker -Carthage Neighborhood PIN 9642-68-1464-00 in the City of Sanford, in <br />Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 672, Page 583, in the <br />office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby <br />made for more complete description; and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br />county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed <br />such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1463 Page 745 <br />in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on <br />behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Jannie Allen ("Offeror"), to <br />purchase the property described above in the amount of $500.00 plus any advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, Offeror paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on her <br />offer plus advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 19, 2017, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners accepted the offer of $500.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford <br />Herald on June 28, 2017; and, <br />WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and <br />the original offer from Jannie Allen is the final and highest bid received. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />as follows: <br />1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of $500.00 from <br />Jannie Allen. <br />2. The terms of the final sale are as follows: Buyer must pay with cash, cashier's check <br />or certified check at the time of closing. <br />
