0 0 <br />6C0 :%1 19 P!CE 88 <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the board improvements needed to <br />relocate the Planning, Inspections and Environmental Health offices to the Makepeace <br />Street office building. He told the board that the following improvements would be <br />necessary to facilitate the efficient utilization of the building: <br />• Telephone System <br />511,500 <br />• Signage <br />3,000 <br />• Additional Parking <br />15,000 <br />• Fiber Connection <br />17,473 <br />• Carpeting & Venetian Blinds <br />3,700 <br />• Work Stations & Partitions <br />16,500 <br />• Re-keying of Locks <br />950 <br />TOTAL $68,123 <br />He further told the board that the building would require minor painting, touchup, and <br />cleaning which County Maintenance staff will supply and housekeeping as a part of the <br />contract with the City of Sanford. The City of Sanford will pay $17,586 annually ($8 per <br />sq. ft.) in rent for the portion of the building used by the Planning and Inspection staff. <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to proceed with necessary <br />renovations at the Makepeace Street office building for the relocation of the Planning, <br />Inspections and Environmental Health offices. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice Chainuan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a resolution to acquire options to purchase the McKinney and <br />Godfrey properties on Tramway Road. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle discussed the <br />resolution and answered questions. Commissioner Reives moved that the following <br />resolution be approved: <br />Be It Resolved by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that it has been <br />requested by the Lee County Board of Education that it acquire options on the <br />McKinney and Godfrey properties in keeping with the instruments negotiated by <br />the Site Selection Committee as requested by the Lee County Board of Education; <br />provided that the Lee County Board of Education must hold a public hearing in <br />December 2002, and prior to its determination that either or both of said options <br />should be exercised. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />4 <br />
