1 0 6GT%, 19 PAGE Ift <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />NOVEMBER IS, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 3:00 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hineks (by conference telephone), Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John 1. Sauls. <br />Vice Chairman Sauls presided in the Chairmen's physical absence and the <br />following business was transacted. <br />Vice Chairman Sauls delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered amendments to the agenda. Commissioner Adams asked that <br />the board discuss the county owned parking garage located down town off Wicker Street. <br />County Manager William Cowan asked that the board consider the following items: <br />• Adoption of the Schedule of Values <br />• Franchise Agreement between the County of Lee and the Sanford-Lee <br />County Volunteer Rescue Squad and a revised budget for the Rescue Squad <br />to be placed in the Emergency Management budget <br />• Purchase of furniture (workstations) for the Social Services department <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to amend the agenda as stated. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hineks, Lenmiond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Saulls <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Minutes from the November 4, 2002 regular meeting <br />Resolution to amend to the Capital Reserve Fund-Schools (per attached) <br />• Resolution and "Deed of Gift" for the Forestry Services property on Fire <br />Tower Road (per attached) <br />• Budget amendment 9 11/18/02/#06 (copy attached) <br />
