%f or 3.9 P±CE 5 ~ <br />• Hiring of an Information Technology Consultant position in the Information <br />Services Department <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives presented former Parks & Recreation Commission board <br />member Elaine Adams with a resolution for her recent induction into the Methodist <br />College Sports Hall of Fame, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. <br />The board considered the acceptance of an offer to purchase county-owned <br />property on Lower River Road. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the board that at the <br />October 7, 2002 meeting the board authorized the sale of the county's undivided interest <br />in a seven-acre tract of land located on Lower River Road. Mrs. Callie S. Meadows <br />made an offer to purchase the property for 51,500 and advertising cost. The undivided <br />interest was advertised for sale pursuant to the upset bid procedure and no qualifying <br />upset bid was received. Mr. Hoyle recommended to the board that the appropriate county <br />officials be authorized to execute the instruments necessary to convey the undivided <br />interest in the property to Mrs. Meadows upon her payment of the balance of the <br />purchase price. Commissioner Lentmond moved to approve a resolution authorizing the <br />sale and payment of the purchase price and advertising expense by Mrs. Callie Meadows <br />for the county-owned property located on Lower River Road, a copy of which is attached <br />to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. No action was taken on the matter. <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the board the following <br />Operation Expenditures and frozen positions: <br />• Frozen Library Assistant position $23,597 <br />• Frozen Extension Service Agricultural Agent/ <br />Horticulturist and Livestock Agent plus benefits $21,894 <br />2 <br />
