%f or 3.9 P±CE 5 ~ • Hiring of an Information Technology Consultant position in the Information Services Department Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Reives presented former Parks & Recreation Commission board member Elaine Adams with a resolution for her recent induction into the Methodist College Sports Hall of Fame, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The board considered the acceptance of an offer to purchase county-owned property on Lower River Road. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the board that at the October 7, 2002 meeting the board authorized the sale of the county's undivided interest in a seven-acre tract of land located on Lower River Road. Mrs. Callie S. Meadows made an offer to purchase the property for 51,500 and advertising cost. The undivided interest was advertised for sale pursuant to the upset bid procedure and no qualifying upset bid was received. Mr. Hoyle recommended to the board that the appropriate county officials be authorized to execute the instruments necessary to convey the undivided interest in the property to Mrs. Meadows upon her payment of the balance of the purchase price. Commissioner Lentmond moved to approve a resolution authorizing the sale and payment of the purchase price and advertising expense by Mrs. Callie Meadows for the county-owned property located on Lower River Road, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Ted Cole from Davenport & Company gave the board an update on the county's debt capacity. No action was taken on the matter. County Manager William Cowan discussed with the board the following Operation Expenditures and frozen positions: • Frozen Library Assistant position $23,597 • Frozen Extension Service Agricultural Agent/ Horticulturist and Livestock Agent plus benefits $21,894 2
