EN;1\ r9 raCF 0: <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lennnond, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John 1. Sauls. <br />Commissioner Adams delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />J <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Paschal asked that <br />the board request the Department of Transportation to conduct a speed limit study for the <br />St. Andrews Church Road and Lee Avenue Extension intersection to Fred Stone Road. <br />Chairman Hincks asked that the board move the two items under "Old Business" to the <br />"Consent Agenda." Commissioner Matthews asked that the board discuss a zoning matter <br />for Mrs. Jerelene Bunnell at 3142 Minter School Road. Commissioner Reives asked that <br />(I ) the board discuss setback regulations for Iretha Bolton on Eakes Road, (2) fiscal matters <br />pertaining to the merged City-County Planning Departments, and (3) zoning matters <br />pertaining to a proposed residential treatment center in the Broadway area. Commissioner <br />Adams moved to approve the agenda as amended. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lenmiond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes from the August 19, 2002 regular meeting <br />• Addition of Public Health Nursing Director I position to the Lee County <br />Pay Plan at Grade 75 <br />• Write off of delinquent 1990 and 1991 taxes <br />• Resolution in support of the AMBER Alert Warning System for missing or <br />abducted children (copy attached) <br />
