In a letter from Ralph Upton, Division Manager of Gold Kist, he stated that in order <br />to continue to process poultry grown in Lee and surrounding counties, they need raw, <br />untreated water hauled to the Siler City reservoir. They are asking Lee County to allow <br />them to purchase up to 80,000 gallons of raw water per day or 560,000 gallons per week. <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve selling Gold Kist, Inc. <br />80,000 gallons of raw, untreated water per day or 560,000 gallons per week. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered an appointment to the Sanford Board of Adjustments. <br />Chairman Hincks moved to appoint Vickie Brooks Gentry as the alternate member of the <br />above-mentioned board.
