A total of $2,648 is needed to <br />join the Assembly, with the Town of Broadway contributing $37, City of Sanford $1,527, <br />and Lee County $1,084. Chairman Hincks moved that Lee County not participate in the <br />Cape Fear River Assembly. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The board considered a request to hire a new Lee County Extension Director. <br />Danny Shaw, Interim Lee Comity Extension Director told the board that he recommended <br />Susan Condlin for the position. He also told the board that in compliance with the <br />Memorandum of Understanding, Extension Administration's recommendation needs <br />approval from the Lee County Board of Commissioners before the appointment is <br />considered official. Commissioner Adams moved to accept Mr. Shaw's recommendation <br />to hire Susan Condlin as the new Lee County Extension Director effective September 1, <br />2002.
