The County agrees to promptly provide <br />to the City of Sanford Community Development Department a copy of all properly adopted <br />regulations and ordinances pertaining to the services listed above. <br />4. COMPENSATION. For fiscal year 2002-2003 the County shall pay to the City the sum of <br />$72,145, which equals one-half of the difference between the combined revenue estimate of <br />5320,000 and the combined operating budget of $464,290. The County will adjust the <br />$72,145 payment to take into consideration any revenues it had collected between July I" and <br />the date the City assumes responsibility for the merged department. Likewise, an adjustment <br />will be made for any expenditures paid by Lee County between July I" and the date the City <br />assumes responsibility for the merged department. Said payment maybe made in quarterly <br />installments. <br />For every following year, the County will pay to the City an amount equal to fifty percent of <br />the projected operating loss which will be calculated by subtracting the projected revenues <br />from the projected expenditures contained in the approved budget. This amount will be paid to <br />the City in equal installments on July 1, October 1, January 1 and March 1. Following the <br />conclusion of the fiscal year and completion of the City's annual audit, a statement showing <br />actual revenues and expenditures will be provided to Lee County. If actual revenues exceed <br />actual expenditures, Lee County will receive 50% of this amount adjusted to take into <br />consideration any earlier payments made to the City. If actual expenditures exceed actual <br />revenues, Lee County will pay to the City of Sanford 50% of that amount also adjusted to take <br />into consideration any earlier payments made to the City. <br />5. FEES. Inspection fees established by ordinance shall be collected by the City and retained <br />unless distributed in accordance with paragraph 4 above. To the extent possible it shall be the <br />goal of the City and County for inspection services to be self supporting. Fee schedules will <br />be reviewed annually for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners and City Council. <br />6. ASSETS PREVIOUSLY FURNISHED. The current vehicles used by inspectors, furnishings, <br />computers, equipment and supplies heretofore provided by the County will be provided to the <br />City. Al such time that the City no longer desires to use the vehicle, furnishings, computers, <br />equipment and machines transferred by the County for use by the City's Community <br />Development Department, such equipment will be returned to County for disposal. <br />7. ASSETS ACQUIRED IN THE FUTURE. From and after July 1, 2002, the pro rata cost of <br />capital assets of a value of 5500.00 or greater which are acquired for use by the Sanford-Lee <br />County Community Development Department Inspections Division will be determined during <br />the budget process and approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Council. The <br />City will track these assets in such a fashion that when the capital assets are no longer being <br />used by said division, they will be disposed of by the City in a timely manner and the proceeds <br />derived from such sale will be divided between the City and County on the same pro rata basis <br />as they were acquired. <br />S. TERMINATION. In additional to the method of termination provided in paragraph 1, either <br />party may terminate this agreement upon six (6) months written notice before the end of the <br />tenn to the other party.
