P.ICE 89-56 0 0 2 <br />• Permission for the Sheriff's Department to apply for a grant from the <br />Bureau of Justice in the amount of $14,392 to be used for training and <br />equipment <br />• Budget amendment # 06/17/02/#24 (copy attached) <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for April and May 2002 (copies attached) <br />• Extension of dental contracts for part-time temporary dentists at the <br />Children's Dental Clinic through July 2002 <br />• Increase in capitalization threshold for Capital Outlay budget purposes from <br />$500 to $5,000 <br />• Permit for use of pyrotechnics for the fourth of July celebration (copy <br />attached) <br />• Request from the Health Department to unfreeze a vacant Public Health <br />Nurse 11 position <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lenunond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner Althea <br />Thompson told the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the petition by <br />David H. Simpson Construction Co., Inc. to rezone from Residential Agricultural District <br />to Highway Commercial Conditional Use District, approximately 1.53 acres of land located <br />at 3007 Beechtree Drive. Commissioner Sau15 moved to approve the recommendation of <br />the Planning Board and an Order showing that the four (4) findings of fact had been <br />approved, a copy of which is attached and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lenunond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a resolution concerning the Annual Secondary Road <br />Construction Program for the Department of Transportation. Department of Transportation <br />District Engineer Joe Clendenin discussed the project for the upcoming year and answered <br />questions from board members. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date <br />and time. <br />David Tarpey of 159 Memory Lane was the only individual to speak during the <br />public hearing. <br />
