888 <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the board additional proposed <br />budget cuts from Governor Easley that will affect some County departments. No action <br />was taken on the matter. <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the board the proposed sale of the <br />Cumnock Water Plant to Gold Kist. He told the board that representatives from Gold Kist <br />had discussed the matter with him and would like to take ownership at the end of the <br />calendar year. If the sale should take place, there are fifty-four water customers in the area <br />that will be transferred to the city water line, with no change in service. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to ask the legislation to authorize a special bill <br />for Lee County to sell the Cumnock Water Plant to Gold Kist, Inc. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />There being no further business to come before the board, Commissioner Lemmond <br />moved to adjourn the meeting.
