PACE 88-1 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews left the meeting at this time. <br />The board considered a $20,000 funding request from Senior Services. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to add the $20,000 back into the Senior Services <br />budget. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered funding for the Lee County Schools. After much discussion, <br />Chairman Hincks moved to cut $350,000 from the Schools Operating Expenses and not <br />reduce the Capital Outlay line item. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered funding for the Lee County Arts Council. The Arts Council <br />had requested a total of $3,500 for fiscal year 2002-03, and County Manager William <br />Cowan recommended a total of $2,500. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives <br />moved to reduce the Arts Council budget by an additional $500 below the County <br />Manager's recommendation. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: None <br />Nay: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Absent: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had failed. <br />The board considered funding for the Temple Theater. The Temple Theater had <br />requested $18,000 for fiscal year 2002-03, and County Manager William Cowan <br />recommended a total of $10,000. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to <br />delete an additional $1,000 from the County Manager's recommendation, making the <br />contribution to the Temple Theater $9,000. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Lemmond, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: Hincks and Paschal <br />Absent: Matthews <br />3 <br />1 <br />
