03 <br />~i;oY ~8 PaGE 8~8 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the second and final required public hearing that had been <br />advertised for this date and time to hear comments from citizens concerning an application <br />from Central Carolina Hospital for an ambulance franchise for Lee County. <br />No one present spoke on behalf of the franchise agreement. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve an ordinance granting a franchise to <br />AMISUB of North Carolina, Inc. for the provision of emergency and non-emergency <br />ambulance service in Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the board consider and approve a Lease <br />Agreement between the County of Lee and AMISUB of North Carolina, Inc. for the EMS <br />building located at 1218 Central Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioner Lemmond <br />moved to approve the Lease Agreement as outlined by Attorney Hoyle, a copy of which is <br />attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chaimran ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date <br />and time to hear comments concerning a resolution to levy a one-half percent (1/2¢) local <br />government sales and use tax to become effective July 1, 2003. <br />No one present spoke on behalf of the resolution. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve a resolution levying the third one-half <br />(1/2¢) local government sales and use tax and prescribing the method of distribution of the <br />proceeds within Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof.
