nu 118 wE 845 <br />MINUTES FROM THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MAY 20, 2002 <br />The special joint meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Sanford City <br />Councilmen, and the Broadway Commissioners, convened at 1:00 p.m. on this date at <br />Trailblazers Steakhouse, 1215 N. Homer Blvd., Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />J present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. Sauls. The purpose of the <br />meeting was to meet with Representative Leslie Cox, Representative Don Davis, and <br />Senator Oscar Harris. <br />Chairman Hincks called the meeting to order and announced that he had been asked <br />to facilitate the meeting. <br />Commissioner John Sauls delivered the invocation. <br />County Manager William Cowan told the legislative delegates that the purpose of <br />the meeting was to request that the General Assembly enact legislation that will secure the <br />local government revenue sources and ensure that these revenues are distributed to local <br />governments on a timely basis. <br />A general question and answer session was held to discuss various matters. <br />Chairman Hincks adjourned the meeting at 2:35 p.m. <br />Herbert A.
