Commissioner Lemmond discussed with the board the forming of a board or committee to study designated partials of land in the county so people moving into these areas would know that they are located in a fanning or livestock area. After some discussion, Commissioner Lemmond stated that he would arrange for a presentation to be made to the board by a representative from Chatham County in the near future. No action was taken on the matter. Commissioner Matthews moved to go into closed session to instruct the County Manager and staff concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the County in negotiating for the acquisition of real property owned by the Lemmond family on Poplar Springs Church Road. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. After completing business in closed session, Commissioner Matthews moved to go out of closed session.
