UJUA 1. <br />Section VIII. Central Carolina Hospital shall keep and maintain all of the records <br />required of it by the State of North Carolina and by Lee County and will permit <br />representatives of Lee County to inspect its records, premises and equipment at any <br />time in order to assure compliance with the requirements of its franchises. <br />Section IX. Central Carolina Hospital initially will charge rates for its services <br />no greater than as set forth in its application for fianchise. Central Carolina <br />Hospital may from time to time increase its rates and charges for its services <br />provided, however, that no increase shall go into effect until Central Carolina <br />Hospital shall have given a 30-day written notice of such increase and provided <br />further that no more than two such increases may be made in any 12-month period. <br />Section X. Either party shall have the right to terminate either or both of these <br />franchises by giving the other party six (6) months written notice of its intention to <br />terminate. <br />Section XL Application for renewal of these franchises shall be made pursuant to <br />Sections 4 and 5 of the "Ordinance Regulating Ambulance Services in Lee County" <br />heretofore referred to. <br />Section XII. These franchises and the rights, privileges and authority hereby <br />granted shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002, provided that <br />within 14 days after the date of final passage of this ordinance, Central Carolina <br />Hospital shall file with the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners its unconditional <br />acceptance of these franchises and has entered into a written agreement with Lee <br />County to provide emergency medical service for said County and to comply and <br />abide with all the terms and provisions and conditions of these franchises and that <br />contract, and said acceptance to be in writing and executed in the manner as <br />required by Lee County. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hineks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a resolution requesting that the General Assembly enact <br />legislation that will secure the local government revenue sources and ensure that these <br />revenues are distributed to local governments on a timely basis as set forth by the State's <br />General Statutes. Commissioner Reives discussed the resolution and asked that the board <br />approve it. Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve a resolution requesting that all <br />local government revenue sources be made secure, a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes, and by this reference made a part hereof.
