Qac~ a <br />uUUn 1 <br />from Lee County to operate an emergency and non-emergency ambulance <br />service in Lee County. <br />c) Central Carolina Hospital is in compliance with Article 7 of Chapter 131E <br />of the North Carolina General Statutes. <br />d) Central Carolina Hospital is entitled to have such franchises granted and the <br />granting of such franchises is necessary to assure the provision of continuing <br />emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in Lee County and such <br />action will promote the public health, safety, and welfare. <br />e) The procedures of N.C. Gen. Stat. 153A-250, 153A-45, and 153A-46 have <br />been complied with. <br />Section I1. Central Carolina Hospital is hereby granted the exclusive permission <br />and franchise to operate an emergency ambulance service and a non-emergency and <br />convalescent ambulance service in Lee County upon the terms and conditions set <br />forth therein. <br />Section III. Central Carolina Hospital shall at all times be in compliance with <br />Article 7 of Chapter 131E of the North Carolina General Statutes and with the <br />temporary rules adopted by the North Carolina Medical Care Commission effective <br />as of January 1, 2002. Failure to maintain such compliance shall automatically <br />terminate the franchise herein granted. Said Article 7 of Chapter 131E of the North <br />Carolina General Statutes sets forth standards for ambulances, equipment and <br />personnel. <br />Section N. This franchise shall exist and continue for a period of five years from <br />the date the franchises are granted, unless earlier terminated as herein set forth. <br />Section V. Central Carolina Hospital is authorized to provide both emergency <br />and non-emergency ambulance services in all of Lee County, North Carolina. <br />Section VI. Central Carolina Hospital will continuously maintain liability <br />insurance on both its employees and ambulances in at least the amount it states in <br />its application for franchises or in such amounts as may be required under the laws <br />of the State of North Carolina or its agencies, whichever amount is greater. <br />Section VII. Central Carolina Hospital recognizes that it is the primary ambulance <br />provider in Lee County and agrees that it will operate its emergency and its non- <br />emergency ambulance services in a manner not inconsistent with the rules, <br />regulations and protocols of the Lee County Department of Emergency Medical <br />Services, and the directions of the Advance Life Support Medical Director for Lee <br />County. <br />4 <br />
