0 eGU\ ~8 F cF <br />f. Patient Rights. All patients transported by Provider as part of the <br />Service shall be brought to Provider's Hospital for triage. If a patient chooses to be <br />admitted to another facility for stabilization, the patient will be transported at the patient's <br />expense to the facility of patient's choice. <br />g. Advisory Council. Provider will form an advisory council to <br />provide feedback and suggestions on operation of the Service. The Advisory Council <br />will include representatives from the Hospital, the Hospital Medical Staff, County <br />Management, and the Board. The Advisory Council shall function until such time as a <br />Quality Management Committee has been constituted pursuant to the temporary rules <br />adopted by the North Carolina Medical Commission. <br />h. Volunteer Rescue Squad. Provider will continue the County's <br />historical support of the Lee County Volunteer Rescue Squad (Volunteers) by ensuring <br />that the Volunteers have one emergency medical transport vehicle at all times. Provider <br />acknowledges that County historically has donated its oldest emergency medical <br />transport vehicle to the Volunteers when the County has acquired a new emergency <br />medical vehicle. <br />i. Emergency Management. Provider will aid and assist Lee County <br />Emergency Management on a reasonable basis, subject to the availability of Provider's <br />resources. <br />j. Termination. Upon termination by Provider, County will have the <br />right to purchase any capital assets utilized and owned solely by Provider in connection <br />with the conduct of the services provided pursuant to this Agreement (including, but not <br />limited to equipment and vehicles) "as is", at its then market value as determined by an <br />appraisal to be conducted by a qualified independent appraiser reasonably acceptable to <br />the County and Provider. The cost of such appraisal will be home equally by County and <br />Provider. <br />k. Provider shall assist County in the preparation of an application to <br />establish an emergency management system for review by the Office of Emergency <br />Services as required by the temporary rules adopted by the North Carolina Medical <br />Commission. <br />5. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF CORPORATE INTEGRITY <br />AGREEMENT <br />County acknowledges that County has been notified of the fact and substance of <br />that certain Corporate Integrity Agreement between the Department of Health and <br />Human Services and National Medical Enterprises, Inc. ("NME") dated June 29, 1994, of <br />the nature of wrong doings alleged in that certain Settlement Agreement between the <br />United States of America and NME, dated June 29, 1994 ("Settlement Agreement"), and <br />of the importance of the parties hereto in abiding by the terms of said agreements as well <br />as by all Federal program requirements and the policies and procedures of Tenet <br />Healthcare Corporation ("Tenet"), formerly known as NME. <br />4 <br />
