eGaX IS HGE 8~S <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />May 6, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lennmond, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />Nathan E Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. SaLlls. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Matthews delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Matthews asked that <br />the board send letters of appreciation to all artists and vendors that participated in the <br />Pottery Festival held this past weekend. Commissioner Lemmond asked that the board <br />discuss the forming of a board to study designated farmland in Lee County. County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the board consider a resolution requesting that local <br />government revenue sources be made secure. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the <br />agenda with the above additions. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the April 15, 2002 special meeting <br />• Minutes of the April 22, 2002 special meeting <br />• Renewal contract for inmate labor between the County of Lee and the North <br />Carolina Department of Correction (copy attached) <br />• Renewal of annual consolidated agreement between the State of North <br />Carolina and the Lee County Health Department <br />• NC Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention <br />continuation funding request for Youth Services <br />
