002 <br />Ego' J8 PACE 741 <br />• Pre-application grant for the Governor's Crime Commission for Youth <br />Services <br />• Agreement with the North Carolina's Uniforni Certification Process for <br />Disadvantaged Business Enterprises <br />• Increase cost for TB skin test from $10.00 to $15.00 <br />• Letter of credit for Liberty Road (relocated Bruce Coggins Road) <br />• Budget amendment# 02/18/02/#l 3 (copy attached) <br />• Designation of Lee County Board of Education's share of State Public <br />School Building Capital Finds (copy attached) <br />• Purchase requisitions with DELL for computer equipment totaling <br />$26,042.82 <br />• Resolution for the purchase of voting machine equipment from MicroVote <br />General Corporation in the amount of $419,950.00 (copy attached) <br />• Letter to Department of Transportation for a traffic study on Franklin Drive <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board heard presentations from Johnny Ransdell with the local Department of <br />Transportation Office, Greg Tanner from Triangle J Council of Governments, and Louise <br />Bruckner from the Employment Security Commission. Commissioner Reives joined the <br />meeting during Mr. Ransdell's presentation. <br />Commissioner Reives asked that the board discuss the hiring of an Assistant County <br />Manager in the upcoming budget process. By general consensus, the board approved <br />adding this matter to the agenda. <br />The board considered matters pertaining to the Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) Program for FY 2002. Planner Karen Jones told the board that a public <br />hearing had been advertised for this date and time to hear continents from the public <br />concerning the FY 2002 scattered site rehabilitation project. Chairman Hincks opened the <br />public hearing. No one from the general public spoke concerning the matter. Chairman <br />Hincks closed the public hearing. Ms. Jones asked that someone be appointed to serve on <br />the Site Selection Committee and Commissioner Matthews volunteered to serve on this <br />Committee. <br />The board considered a staffing proposal for the Cooperative Extension Office. <br />Cooperative Extension Director John Hall told the board that during the past year his <br />department has experienced staffing changes. Due to State budget cuts, his department was <br />unable to fill the Agricultural Agent position that was left vacant in February 2001.
