Commissioner Reives joined the <br />meeting during Mr. Ransdell's presentation. <br />Commissioner Reives asked that the board discuss the hiring of an Assistant County <br />Manager in the upcoming budget process. By general consensus, the board approved <br />adding this matter to the agenda. <br />The board considered matters pertaining to the Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) Program for FY 2002. Planner Karen Jones told the board that a public <br />hearing had been advertised for this date and time to hear continents from the public <br />concerning the FY 2002 scattered site rehabilitation project. Chairman Hincks opened the <br />public hearing. No one from the general public spoke concerning the matter. Chairman <br />Hincks closed the public hearing. Ms. Jones asked that someone be appointed to serve on <br />the Site Selection Committee and Commissioner Matthews volunteered to serve on this <br />Committee. <br />The board considered a staffing proposal for the Cooperative Extension Office. <br />Cooperative Extension Director John Hall told the board that during the past year his <br />department has experienced staffing changes. Due to State budget cuts, his department was <br />unable to fill the Agricultural Agent position that was left vacant in February 2001.
