Ash, <br />bGn; IS PZE 74 3 <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />FEBRUARY 18,2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />for the meeting were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E Paschal, and John I. SanlS. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was <br />absent. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Adams delivered the invocation. <br />Lloyd Jennings led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Matthews asked that <br />a subdivision ordinance matter be discussed concerning a land matter that was handled by <br />the courts. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the execution of a resolution and <br />contract for the purchase of new voting machines be placed on the consent agenda since the <br />matter has already been approved by the board. County Manager William Cowan asked <br />that the board submit a letter to the Department of Transportation asking that a traffic study <br />be conducted on Franklin Drive for the reduction of the speed limit between Pendergrass <br />Road and Henley Road. Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the agenda with the <br />above additions. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the amended consent agenda, which <br />consisted of the following items: <br />• Minutes of the February 4, 2002 regular meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for December 2001 and January 2002 (copy <br />attached) <br />
