0 05 <br />no,( 8 PAGE 725 <br />board that he has attended several meetings with Triangle J Council of Governments <br />concerning this project, and the likely scenario according to Dee Freemen of Triangle J, <br />would be that Chatham, Lee, Moore, and Johnston counties would come together to form a <br />four-county Rural Planning Organization. A local match of $23,250.00, which would be <br />divided by the four counties, would be required to receive a 593,000.00 grant in State <br />money. The purpose of this organization would be to provide recommendations to the <br />Board of Transportation on issues involving these four counties as it relates to <br />transportation. After some discussion, Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve a <br />Memorandum of Understanding for Transportation Planning and the Establishment of a <br />Rural Transportation Planning Organization, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Darryl Harrington from Soil and Water Conservation gave a report concerning his <br />department <br />There being no further business to come before the board, Commissioner Paschal <br />moved to adjourn the meeting.
