n <br />602 <br />ago; 18 NICF 72.21 <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Emergency Management Director Warren Lee gave the board an update on a recent <br />meeting he attended in Southern Pines concerning a Hazard Mitigation Plan for Lee <br />County. Mr. Lee told the board that a 515,000 grant was available from the State to assist <br />in hiring a consultant to write a plan. Deadline for submitting plans is June I", with no <br />waiver allowed. <br />Commissioner Reives joined the meeting at this time. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to authorize Mr. Lee to submit an application for a <br />S 15,000 grant from the State. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SauIS <br />Nay: None <br />Mr. Lee submitted to the board a list of individuals recommended to serve on the <br />Mitigation Advisory Committee. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve committee <br />members as submitted by Mr. Lee. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Additional discussion followed concerning the hiring of a consultant to assist in writing the <br />Hazard Mitigation Plan for Lee County. After further discussion, the board agreed not to <br />hire a consultant to assist with the writing of a plan, but for Mr. Lee to begin with the plan <br />and get assistance fi-om other departments and individuals as needed. <br />Chairman Hincks appointed Commissioner Lemmond to represent the Board of <br />Commissioners on the Mitigation Advisory Committee. <br />The board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner Althea <br />Thompson told the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of a text change <br />to the Lee County Zoning Ordinance, Article Vlt, District Regulations, Section 3, TABLE <br />OF PERMITTED USES. The Planning Board recommended that the amendment will add <br />additional language to the "Fann Supplies Sales Use" to include landscape and garden <br />supply sales. The following items will be added to the list of things that can be sold such <br />as lawn furniture, mulch, fencing, fountains, statuaries, etc. Commissioner Reives moved <br />
