a0o; f8 wcl M <br />The board conducted a public hearing that had been advertised for this date and <br />time. Planner Karen Jones told the board that the hearing is relative to the intention of <br />the County to apply for FY 2002 Scattered Site Community Development Block Grant <br />funding in the amount of $400,000 under Title 1 of the Housing and Community <br />Development Act. Ms. Jones told the board that the purpose of the public hearing was to <br />obtain the views and proposals of the citizens of Lee County with regard to the <br />determination of priorities for the community development and housing needs of the <br />County. She told the board that an additional public hearing would be held later in <br />February to finalize the procedure. Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing at this <br />time. No one spoke during the public hearing to make comments or suggestions <br />concerning the application process. Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to go into closed session to instruct the County <br />Manager and staff concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the county in <br />negotiating for the acquisition of real property owned by the Lemmond family on Poplar <br />Springs Church Road. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Following discussion in closed session, Commissioner Paschal moved to go out of <br />closed session. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the joint public hearing that had been advertised for this <br />date and time with the Lee County Planning Board. Planner Althea Thompson outlined <br />the petition by John and Gail Foushee to amend the Lee County Zoning Ordinance, <br />Article VII, District Regulations, Section 3. TABLE OF PERMITTED USES.
