0 0 <br />cUml 1S P.ja 706 0 0 1 <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JANUARY 7, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. <br />J Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert'I'. Reives, and John I. SaUIs. <br />Chairman 11incks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Ed Paschal delivered the invocation and led the pledge of <br />allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Matthews asked <br />that the board discuss a tax matter for Mr. Greg Hanes. She also asked that the board <br />consider reinstating funds for the Beaver Management Program for this year. <br />Commissioner Lemmond asked that a status report be given concerning the ATM <br />machine that is to be placed at the Lee County Courthouse. He also asked that discussion <br />take place concerning tax billings. Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the <br />agenda with the above additions. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chaimuan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted <br />of the following items: <br />• Minutes Gom the December 3, 2001 regular meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for November 2001 (copy attached) <br />• Acceptance of donations to Youth Services <br />1. Donation of $700 from The Kiwanis Club of Sanford <br />2. Donation of S50 from Ms. Ellen Gamer <br />
