0 V OK -49 PAcF 68 <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the above-proposed <br />fees with the exception for over-the-counter drugs that should increase to $1.00. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Hanes asked that the Board approve the acceptance of $58,625 in Public <br />Health Preparedness Funds to work with Emergent Management and local law <br />enforcement agencies. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the acceptance of the <br />above funds. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Hanes discussed with the Board a request for S10,000 for the prenatal care <br />program (mid-wife services) with Central Carolina Hospital through June 30, 2004. <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to deny the request and ask the <br />hospital to contribute the requested funding. After further discussion, Commissioner <br />Lemmond moved to table the matter until the January meeting and have Mr. Hanes meet <br />with hospital representatives to discuss the matter and try to work out an agreement. <br />Upon a vote of the tabled matter, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, and Stevens <br />Nay: Adams, Paschal, and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />The Board considered a request to purchase vehicles for the Sheriff's Department. <br />Capt. James Estes told the Board that he had received the following State contract bids to <br />purchase an administrative car for Sheriff Billy Bryant, seven (7) patrol vehicles and a 4 <br />x 4 SUV Ford Explorer: <br />Sanford Ford No Bid <br />Sanford, NC <br />Bill Smith Ford No Bid <br />Southern Pines, NC <br />Capital Ford SIS9,552 <br />Raleigh, NC <br />7 <br />
