ecoX 19 PacF 656 <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />LEE COUNTY <br />CENTRAL CAROLINA HOLDINGS LLC. <br />SCRAP TIRE RECYCLING &c DISPOSAL CONTRACT <br />This Scrap Tire Recycling and Disposal Contract ("Contract') made and entered on this <br />I" day of October, 2003 (Anniversary date), by and between Lee County, a political <br />subdivision of the State of North Carolina, herein after referred to as "County" and <br />Central Carolina Holdings, LLC, a North Carolina Corporation, with principal business <br />offices located at 1616 McKoy Town Road, Cameron, 28326, herein after referred to as <br />"Contractor". <br />W ITN ES ET11 <br />WHERAS, the County chooses to recycle its scrap tires when possible and has <br />determined that this service can best be provided through a service contract with a <br />qualified firm-, and <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor is qualified to provide collection, transportation, recycling <br />and disposal of tires and other scrap rubber and has the necessary equipment, personnel, <br />facilities, expertise, financial resources and management skills to provide a high level of <br />service. <br />I) Scrap Tire Volume Generated <br />It is unknown how many scrap tires that the County receives at its collection facility <br />annually. However, the Contractor understands that the County does not control the <br />scrap tire waste stream and that there is no guaranteed volume that will be received <br />during the term of this contract. <br />2) Recycling and Disposal Services <br />The Contractor agrees to accept tires once they are hauled in by the County or by a <br />contractor authorized by the County. Furthennore, the Contractor shall be responsible for <br />processing, recycling and/or disposing of all scrap tires in accordance with all applicable <br />state, federal, and local rules and regulations, permits, ordinances and standards. <br />3) Tcrm <br />This Contract shall be in full force and effect for a period of five (5) years from the date <br />of execution, unless terminated earlier per Section 7 (b), with automatically extended <br />renewal terms for a period of one (I) year each at the end of each successive tern unless <br />
