CCUn 19 FACE 56q <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />'fhe Board considered repairs to the Bob Hales Recreation Building and old <br />Rescue Squad building. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board that during <br />recent heavy rains, flooding occurred at the Bob Hales Recreation Building and the old <br />Rescue Squad building, causing approximately S48,495.65 in damages. Mr. Cole told the <br />Board that Lee County would have to pay the deductible of $25,000 with insurance <br />paying the remaining balance of $23,495.65. After some discussion, Commissioner <br />Adams moved the County pay the S25,000 deductible and proceed with repairs. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond discussed with the Board signage for Floyd L. Knight <br />School. He expressed concern that there are no directions to the school from Woodland <br />Avenue or Horner Blvd. (Hwy. 421.) After some discussion, Commissioner Lemmond <br />moved that a letter be forwarded to the City of Sanford asking them to place proper <br />signage to Floyd L. Knight School on Woodland Avenue and Horner Blvd. (Hwy. 421.) <br />His motion also included for the Board of Education to submit a request to the City of <br />Sanford to address signage for all schools in the county. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Stevens addressed the matter that there is no signage from Horner <br />Blvd. (Hwy. 421) or US #1 to the Lee County Government Center. After some <br />discussion, Chairman Hincks moved that a letter be sent to the Department of <br />Transportation asking them to place signage directions to the Lee County Government <br />Center from all main thoroughfares leading to the Government Center.
