L FACE 566 <br />0 Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted <br />of the following items: <br />• Minutes from the September 15, 2003 regular meeting <br />• Approval to fill vacant Transportation Coordinator position at <br />Senior Services <br />• Approval to receive Federal Runaway & Homeless Youth Grant <br />award fi-om U.S. Department of Health & Human Services <br />• Preliminary Plat for Cedar Lane Road <br />• Preliminary Plat for Quail Ridge Phase II <br />• Addition of Upchurch Farm Road, Old Barn Court, Plant Bed <br />Lane, and Pack House Lane to the State Maintained Secondary <br />Road System (resolutions attached) <br />• Resolution in memory of William "Bill" Pretty (copy attached) <br />• Approval for matching grant with the NC. Wildlife Resources <br />Commission to purchase adaptive fishing equipment for San-Lee <br />Park <br />• Resolution in memory of John Fletcher Rosser (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />.Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the appointment of Nathan Crissman as Interim Tax <br />Administrator. Commissioner Adams moved to appoint Mr. Crissman as Lee County <br />Interim Tax Administrator until the vacant position can be filled, a copy of the Oath of <br />Office is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: Drone <br />Absent: Paschal <br />Chairman Hincks ruled that the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a presentation concerning the Endor Iron Furnace Project. Mr. <br />Paul Barringer, representing the Triangle Land Conservancy and the Railroad House <br />Historic Association gave the Board an update on the Endor Iron Furnace Project. Mr. <br />Barringer outlined two phases to the project and explained the goals, plans and visions <br />for a park that would benefit the community and Lee County. He told the Board that <br />approximately 5500,000 would be needed to complete the Phase I project with an <br />additional $1 million for Phase If.
