G ^k 0 mE S <br />c <br />Pty <br />04je Alke Tountg Tguarb of ( ommi8Sioner8 <br />Wtoolntinn <br />WHEREAS, John Fletcher Rosser of 610 Erwin Road, Sanford, passed away on Saturday, September 28, <br />2003;and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rosser contributed significantly to community activities in Lec County by distinguished <br />service such as a former member of the Sanford-Lec County Board of Education, Director and Vice-President of the <br />Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce, Director of United Fund, Chairman of the N.C. State University Alumni <br />Association, Chairman of the Lee County Wolf Pack Club, campaign Chairman for the Paul B. Gay Stadium at Lee <br />County High School, Financial Director for the Bread Basket, Chairman of Lee County Committee for Multiple <br />Sclerosis, Charter Member of the St. Luke Wednesday Morning Prayer Breakfast, Head Usher at Steele Street and St. <br />Luke United Methodist Church's; and President of the Broadway Lions Club and the Sanford Rotary Club; and <br />WHEREAS, his outstanding example of good citizenship was recognized by his receiving the following <br />awards: Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 1999, Small Business Person of the Year Award in <br />1999, Civitan Club Citizen of the Year Award in 1999, and the Sanford Herald's First Lifetime Community Service <br />Award in 2003: and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rosser was a veteran of World War 11 and maintained membership in both the American <br />Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Hoard of Commissioners hereby honors the <br />memory of John Fletcher Rosser for a life of outstanding service, contribution and commendable leadership to his <br />community <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners as a permanent record of the achievements of and respect for one of Lee County's outstanding citizens, <br />and that the original be presented to the family of John Fletcher Rosser with sincere sympathy and appreciation. <br />Adopted this the 6" day of October 2003. <br />~v~'--tom <br />Herbert A.
