IL9 FACE 565 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />OCTOBER 6, 2003 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioners Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commmissioncrs present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. Commissioner Nathan E. <br />Paschal was sick and not in attendance. <br />Chairman Hincks called the meeting to order and the following business was <br />transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, Sr., delivered the invocation. <br />Chairman Hincks led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. <br />• Resolution in memory of John Fletcher Rosser <br />• Update on water issues with the City of Sanford <br />• Discussion on Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) concerns <br />from the Homebuilders Association <br />• Signage for the Lee County Government Center <br />• Request from the Board of Education to use balance of <br />contingency funds for new cooling tower at West Lee Middle <br />School <br />• Closed session to discuss personnel matters and vacancies of the <br />Board <br />• Application for exemption of property taxes by the Sanford Soup <br />Kitchen (Bread Basket) <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the agenda as amended. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
