Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was <br />in open session. <br />Commissioner Adams moved that the Board schedule a public hearing on October <br />6, 2003, at 9:00 o'clock a.m., or as soon thereafter as can be reached on the agenda, to <br />consider participating in an economic development project with the Lee County <br />Economic Development Corporation for the Capital Bank Operations Center and <br />Challenge Printing Company. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Stevens moved that the Board approve a resolution in support of <br />Central Carolina Hospital's application for a certificate of need for the construction of an <br />ambulatory surgical center, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks recessed the meeting till 7:00 o'clock p.m. at the old Lee <br />County Courthouse. <br />At 7:00 o'clock p.m., Chainman Hincks called the meeting to order in Courtroom <br />#4 at the old Lee County Courthouse for advertised public hearings with the Lee County <br />Planning Board. All Commissioners were present except Mr. Reives. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outline the first public hearing to amend the Lee <br />County Zoning Ordinance, Article VII, District Regulations, Section 3. Table o <br />Permitter! Uses by deleting the "S" under the column headed by RA beside the use <br />"Sanitary Landfill," and by replacing the "X" under the column headed by HI with an "S" <br />beside the rise "Sanitary Landfill;" thereby prohibiting sanitary landfills in the Residential <br />Agricultural (RA) district and allowing such use in the heavy Industrial District as a <br />special Use subject to the issuance of a Special Use Pennit. Ms. Thompson told the <br />Board that at present, the use is permitted as a Special Use in the Residential Agricultural <br />district, upon issuance of a Special Use Permit by the Planning Board.
