0 55u, 19 P'.cE 535 <br />• VHF control station antenna system <br />• Antenna system installation of coaxial cable from the dispatch <br />center to roof of building at the Sheriff's Office <br />• One (1) 5-watt VHF 160 channel portable radio with antenna, <br />battery and charger <br />• 35-watt VHF vehicle adaptor for TK-290 portable radio with <br />eternal antenna, speaker and palm microphone <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hineks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered engineering services for the new high school project sewer <br />line. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board that he had received propels from <br />the following vendors for the new high school force main and gravity outfall: <br />Hydrostructures, PA Dewberry <br />Pittsboro, NC Raleigh, NC <br />CLH Design MS Consultants <br />Cary, NC Sanford, NC <br />Mr. Cole told the Board that after careful consideration, lie recommended that the Board <br />award the proposal to Hydrostructures from Pittsboro, North Carolina, at a cost of <br />$71,350.00. After some discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to accept the proposal <br />from Hydrostrnctures for the new high school sewer project. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: Hincks <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to one vote. <br />The Board considered a request from the Board of Education to increase their <br />monthly salary. Board of Education Chairman Jim Womack told the Board that due to <br />the number of times his Board meets each month, they fill they should be compensated at <br />the same pay as County Commissioners are compensated. Mr. Womack shared with <br />Commissioners a comparison chart of compensation in nearby counties, showing that Lee <br />County school board members receive about one-half or less of the compensation other <br />school boards get. Their request is to increase their monthly stipend from 5200 per month <br />to the same as the Lee County Board of Commissioners amounting to $787.67 for Board <br />Chainnan and S683.67 for Board members to include future increases effective <br />September 1, 2003. After some discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to deny the <br />3 <br />
