County Manager William Cowan introduced Jim Groves who will be replacing Warren Lee as the Lee County Emergency Management Director effective September 22, 2003. Community Development Director Bob Bridwell introduced Marshall Downy who is replacing Trevis Averett as the Assistant Community Development Director effective today, September 2, 2003. The Board considered a recommendation from the Planning Board concerning a rezoning petition for Wake Stone. Mr. Bridwell told the Board that the Planning Board approved a rezoning request from Wake Stone to rezone 4.02 acres of land at 9725 Stone Quarry Road from Residential Agricultural district to Heavy Industrial Conditional Use district, and a Conditional Use Permit to construct a vegetated earthen benn as a buffer between the stone quarry and residential properties. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board.
