Jeremy Thomas, Project Engineer with Dixon <br />Gibson ms consultants, inc., told the Board that the following bids were received: <br />S. T. Wooten 5722,800.00 <br />Sanford, NC <br />Sanford Contractors 5656,003.50 <br />Sanford, NC <br />Mr. Thomas recommended that the low bid from Sanford Contractors be accepted for the <br />project. Commissioner Matthews moved to accept the low bid of $656,003.50 from <br />Sanford Contractors for the Clyde Rhyne Drive Extension, Phase 2 project. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay. None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a budget ordinance for Government Operation Fees in the <br />FY 2003-04 budget. Public Works Director Kenny Cole asked that the Board approve an <br />® adjustment to the FY 2003-04 Budget Ordinance to decrease fees for waste collection and <br />disposal from 54.00/cu. yard to S3.50 cu. yard. Commissioner Adams moved to approve <br />the decrease in waste collection and disposal as presented by Mr. Cole. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered pay increases for part-time COLTS van drivers. Senior <br />Services Director Debbie Davidson asked that the Board allow her to increase the hourly <br />rate of pay for part-time van drivers based on years of service. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to increase COLTS part-time van drivers to a starting <br />salary of $7.00 per hour based on years of service, and to provide all year-round <br />temporary employees a 3% cost-of-living increase, effective July 1, 2003.
