t 0)n 119 Pace 450 <br />Commissioner Matthews also asked that part-time employees be considered for a <br />pay increase. <br />Commissioner Matthews also discussed a problem with dumping on Gerald <br />Shaw's property in the Lemon Springs community. She stated that something needed to <br />be done because Mr. Shaw's property has to be cleaned up about once a month. Public <br />Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board that his staff, inmates and DOT have assisted <br />in previous cleanups and will continue to do so. Mr. Cole stated that Mr. Shaw has <br />posted his land but nothing can be done since the littering is done on the right-of-way. <br />Chairman Hincks moved that the Board go into the Lee County Water and Sewer <br />District No. 1 meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. After competing <br />business in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting, Chairman Hincks moved that the <br />Board go out of the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a "Water Shortage Ordinance Response" and "Water <br />Conservation Measures" for the City of Sanford that has to be submitted every five-years <br />to the North Carolina Division of Water Resources. City and County water customers are <br />included in the plan; therefore, the County must approve the Ordinance along with the <br />City of Sanford. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the "Water Shortage <br />Ordinance Response" and "Water Conservation Measures" for the City of Sanford, a <br />copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan told the Board that he had received sixteen (16) <br />applications for the Emergency Management Director's position.
