0 a'JON 19 we 446 <br />officer will check status on rabies vaccine and a citation may be <br />issued if rabies vaccine is not verified <br />• Reclaim fee (returning lost animal) - $20.00 plus $10.00 boarding <br />fee per day if applicable <br />• Quarantine boarding fee - $10.00 per day <br />• Donations accepted for euthanasia and disposal <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams and Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the 2003-04 Secondary Road Construction Program for the <br />Department of Transportation. District Engineer Joe Clendenin introduced various DOT <br />staff members and told the Board that Lee County had been allocated $200,370.00 for <br />road construction in FY 2003-04 and that 0.75 miles of road would be paved in Lee <br />County. After sonic discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve a resolution for <br />the 2003-04 Secondary Road Construction Program, a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams and Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Riley Godley from the Cary 911 Communications Center discussed with the <br />Board the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) program. He told the Board that it <br />would cost $250.00 per person for training and $3,000 in grant funds is available from <br />the State to assistant with training purposes. He also stated that Central Carolina Hospital <br />has agreed to fund the cost of purchasing required cards for the dispatchers to use in the <br />E-911 Center. City Manager Leonard Barefoot discussed with the Board how the <br />Sanford E-911 Dispatch Center is organized and the number of employees currently on <br />staff. He told the Board that the Sanford City Counsel would be glad to implement the <br />program if the County would hire two additional staff for the E-911 Communications <br />Center. After much discussion, Commissioner Reives moved that staff begin EMD <br />training immediately and enter into negotiations with the City of Sanford for additional <br />personnel. County Manager William Cowan and Chairman Hincks to are to begin the <br />process and report to the Board at the next meeting in August.
