At the last meeting, Health Director Mike Hanes presented a draft of fees the <br />Health Board had approved for the new Animal Control Shelter that will be opening in <br />September 2003. Mr. I-lanes was instructed by the Board to survey surrounding counties <br />to compare charges on animal control fees and to run an ad in The Sanford Herald letting <br />the public know about the new fees. Mr. Hanes told the Board that he had contacted <br />Wake, Moore, Harnett, Chatham, and Cumberland counties and published a notice in the <br />local paper on July 16"i. He told the Board that the only change his Health Board had <br />requested fi-om the last meeting was to now accept donations rather than charge for <br />euthanasia and disposal of animals. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved <br />to approve the following fees associated with animal control operations: <br />Adoption fee for cats - 545.00 <br />• Adoption fee for dogs - 560.00 <br />• Adoption fees include 7-Nvay shot and de-worming - customer will <br />have 30 days to provide proof to shelter staff of rabies shots. An <br />
