6iOK AL PAGE 458 COUNTY OF LEE NORTH CAROLINA M The Lee County Board of Commissioners met on July 21, 2003 in regular meeting and adopted the following resolution: WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation anticipates a July 2003 allocation of $218,741 in Secondary Road Construction Funds and $97,629 in Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $316,370 in new funds for the forthcoming construction season. WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation retains $26,922 in Secondary Road Construction Funds and $18,002 in Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $44,924 to be used for maintenance functions such as spot stabilization, paved road improvements, replacement of small bridge with pipe, and safety projects. WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation has overdrafts remaining from closed work orders of $100,000 in Secondary Road Construction Funds and $16,000 in Secondary Road Trust Funds for a Total of $200,370 available for the forthcoming construction season and a public meeting was held on July 21, 2003 in the Commissioner's Room of the Lee County Government Center in Sanford concerning the expenditures of said funds. WHEREAS, It is proposed to retain $26,819 of Secondary Road Construction Funds and $3,627 of Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $30,446 for small projects that may arise during the year such as road additions, property owner participation projects, volunteer fire department drives, county-wide surveys, overdrafts, etc. WHEREAS, It is proposed to utilize $65,000 of the Secondary Road Construction Funds and $60,000 of the Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $125,000 to pave 0.75 miles of unpaved roads in Lee County during the 2002-2003 Fiscal Year. WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to pave unpaved roads in Lee County in priority order from the Rural and Residential/Subdivision Lists as far as funding, right of way, and environmental review will allow: A. Unpaved Subdivision/Residential Roads. Note: All available Subdivision/Residential Roads have been paved. The only remaining Subdivision/Residential Roads will be paved as the necessary right-of-way is made available and the roads are removed from the Hold List.
