MINUTES OF THE BUDGET WORK SESSION <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JUNE 23, 2003 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 a.m. in the Gordon Wicker Community Conference <br />Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />said date. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. <br />Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. <br />Stevens. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation and led the pledge of <br />allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Chairman Hincks asked that the <br />board consider drafting a resolution in celebration of Burke Buchanan Appreciation Day <br />on July 2, 2003 in observance of the 14`h anniversary of TV station WBF TV 46. <br />Commissioner Adams asked that the permit for the Fourth of July fireworks be approved <br />under the consent agenda. Commissioner Matthews asked that the board discuss RPO <br />dues with Triangle J Council of Government. Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee asked that <br />the board consider a revised grant agreement, along with the City of Sanford, to the Clean <br />Water Management Trust Fund to finalize the Little Buffalo Creek Project on the consent <br />agenda. Commissioner Lennnond moved to approve the agenda as amended. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lennnond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Approval to draft a resolution in celebration of Burke Buchanan <br />Appreciation Day on July 2, 2003 <br />• Pennit for the Fourth of July fireworks at Kendale Shopping Center (copy <br />attached) <br />• Revised grant agreement with the Clean Water Management Trust Fund to <br />finalize the Little Buffalo Creek Project with the stipulation that no <br />matching funds be required <br />
