1 <br />5 U, 0:1 L 94E q'i <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board discussed meeting dates for the month of July 2003. After some <br />discussion, the board agreed to hold only one meeting in July on Monday, July 21, 2003, <br />at 3:00 p.m. <br />The board conducted a public hearing that had been advertised for this date and <br />time concerning the Lee County Solid Waste Management Plan. Solid Waste <br />Superintendent Joe Cherry told the board that according to North Carolina General <br />Statute 130A-309.09A(b) local governments must update their ten-year comprehensive <br />Solid Waste Management Plan every three years. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing. No one present spoke in favor of or <br />in opposition to the Plan. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve a Resolution Accepting and <br />Endorsing the Solid Waste Management Plan of 2003-2013 for Lee County, a copy of <br />which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks recessed the regular meeting at this time and opened the Lee <br />County Water & Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Adams moved to go out <br />of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting after all business was <br />completed. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time, the board took a fifteen-minute recess. <br />Chairman Hincks called the meeting back to order at 5:05 p.m. and opened the <br />advertised public hearing for the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) for FY 2003/04- <br />2007/08. No one present spoke for or against the Capital Improvements Plan. Chairman <br />Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the advertised public hearing to hear comments <br />concerning the County Manager's recommended budget for 2003-2004. <br />4 <br />
