® BGN 19 PAGE <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JUNE 16, 2003 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Rev. Dr. Linda Smith, pastor of First Calvary Church delivered the invocation and <br />led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Lemmond asked <br />that the board discuss a recent zoning violation complaint received from property owners <br />on Poplar Springs Church Road. Commissioner Adams asked that the board consider a <br />permit for the Fourth of July fireworks at the June 23, 2003 meeting. County Attorney K. <br />R. Hoyle asked that the board approve on the consent agenda a revised Lease Agreement <br />between the County of Lee and the Cit ' v of San ford for the Makepeace Building located on <br />Woodland Avenue. Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the agenda as amended. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted <br />of the following items: <br />Minutes from the June 2, 2003 regular meeting <br />• Minutes from the June 9, 2003 budget work session <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for May 2003 (copy attached) <br />• Approval to fill a vacant Lead Driver position for the COLTS <br />Transportation System <br />• Budget amendment # 06/16/03/923 (copy attached) <br />Letter of Credit for Cottage Village Subdivision at Carolina Trace <br />• Renewal contracts for attorney services for Social Services (copies <br />attached) <br />
