aco, ~9 PacF 07 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />May 5, 2003 <br />The budget work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 a.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room, <br />Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said <br />date. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. <br />Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and Amy L. Stevens. Commissioner <br />Robert T. Reives joined the meeting at a later time. <br />J Chairman Hincks called the budget work session to order. <br />Health Director Mike Hanes and Board of Election board members Rick Hager <br />and Bob Bolsinger discussed their department budgets and answered questions from <br />board members. The Commissioners also discussed the budget presented by the Board of <br />Education. <br />The budget work recessed at 9:00 a.m. to the Commissioners' Room for the <br />regularly scheduled meeting. All Commissioners were in attendance. <br />Chairman Hincks called the regular meeting to order. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />Chairman Hincks led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. The following items were added <br />to the agenda: <br />• Commissioner Matthews asked that Logan Shearer, a recent winner of a <br />VFW contest, be allowed to read his report on patriotism. <br />• County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the board include the following <br />resolution title concerning the Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control <br />Financing Authority $4,250,000 Industrial Revenue Bonds for the <br />Caterpillar Logistics project: <br />"Resolution approving in principle a manufacturing project in Lee County, <br />North Carolina, to be financed for Lee Central, LLC by not exceeding <br />$4,250,000 aggregate principal amount of bonds of the Lee County <br />Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority, <br />
